Securing Gold at Scale
Muthoot Finance, one of India's largest gold loan NBFCs, operates more than 5,000 gold vaults spread across branches all over India. They had designed a hardware security system to monitor these vaults — tracking when shutters were closed, when vaults were sealed, and flagging any anomalies. What they needed was a software solution: a monitoring dashboard that could receive and process the enormous volume of sensor data streaming in every second from installations nationwide.
The challenge was immense. Thousands of sensors sending data per second meant the platform had to be fast, reliable, and capable of surfacing real-time alerts so that monitoring staff could see issues instantly and alert the relevant authorities in their respective regions without delay.
Beyond performance, Muthoot needed granular access control. Various levels within the organisation — from branch managers to regional heads to top management — each required different views and permissions, all highly customisable to their specific operational needs.
What We Built
We built the complete monitoring dashboard software — the layer that receives continuous sensor data from hardware installations across India, processes it in real time, and presents it through an intuitive interface that enables monitoring teams to act on alerts within seconds.
Design that won hearts: The project started with UI design, and the Muthoot team exceptionally praised the beauty we delivered. Compared to the previous design they had in mind, our interface was a significant leap forward — clean, intuitive, and built so monitoring staff could act on critical information at a glance.
The Impact
The platform was delivered in record time — as soon as requirements clarity was received, the system was built and deployed immediately onto AWS with robust security measures to prevent data leaks and unauthorised access. The Muthoot team gained a smooth, real-time view of all their vault metrics across India, with the ability to alert authorities the moment something required attention.
We implemented a highly customisable permission-based RBAC system that allows various levels within the organisation to access exactly the data and controls relevant to their role. The UI design was the highlight — the Muthoot team loved it the most and exceptionally praised the visual quality we delivered, calling it a significant upgrade from anything they had envisioned.
